Our breath connects us to ourselves. 

Whatever is in there, it is alive. 

In yoga, this life force is called PRANA.

 
 
 
Breathing exercises are called Pranayama This life force promotes vitality, creativity and will power.
 
Breathing exercises also prepares us for meditation.  When we meditate, we breathe in and out deeply, concentrating on our breath.
 
In the beginning, Pranayama may seem strange, but after a few repititions, we will feel calm and relaxed like a gentle stream flowing through us.  All negative thoughts are released and we are ready to face the world and its challenges.
